Viking Re-enactment at Stafford Castle details...

Open 15th Aug - 16th Aug

Don’t miss this two-day Viking living history event in Staffordshire on the weekend of 15th-16th August. The Vikings are setting up camp at Stafford Castle and visitors are invited to travel back in time for a day out that is fun, interactive and educational.

Explore the Viking village and the nearby rival Saxon camp in the woodland. Each day the rival factions will clash in the Inner Bailey – a skirmish at around 11am and a larger battle around 3pm.

Look forward to displays, talks and demonstrations including weaving and weapon use. Try your hand at activities such as Have-a-Go Javelin and Kiddie-Vike. There will be face painting, a wound painting stall, axe throwing, birds of prey, food stalls and more. Children can make a small Viking Longboat in the workshop.

Event admission is free. A parking charge applies – take cash. Children’s workshop costs £5.

Please see the website of Historic Stafford to confirm all details before visiting.
