How about a family day out at the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway in Powys during the summer holidays. The whole family will enjoy the 16-mile round trip through lovely Welsh borders countryside and up to three children travel free with each full fare paying adult from 18th July to 3rd September (terms and conditions apply).
If you visit on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday there will also be free kids activities from 11am to 2pm at the museum at Llanfair Caereinion Station – no train tickets are required, donations are welcome.
