Science Oxford Centre has designed Sensory-Friendly Family Days to better accommodate families who experience autism and/or have other additional needs.
Science Oxford Centre Stansfeld Park, Quarry Road, Headington, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX3 0SB
Suitable for ages three years and over, Science Oxford Centre’s Sensory-Friendly Family Days have been designed to better accommodate and support families who experience autism and/or other additional needs. A reduced number of tickets will be issued, loud exhibits signposted, hand-dryers switched off and lighting switched to a dimmer setting. Ear defenders will be available if requested.
Experiment with the interactive exhibits during two-hour sessions in the Exploration Zone. Construct a giant magnetic ball run, try out the Curious Camera, create and test flying designs at the Air Table, and more. Then collect an Explorer Backpack and head outside for outdoor nature trails around the woodland, meadows and ponds. From April to October the outdoor Water Lab will also be available.
Dates/times
Saturdays 4th April and 4th July only. Sessions run 10am-12noon, 12.30-2.30pm and 3-5pm (woodland access is available all day).
It is essential to pre-book sessions in the Exploration Zone in advance. Under 3s go free.
Please see Science Oxford Centre’s website for further information and to book.
