Don’t miss these opportunities for kids to get hands on with some of the collections at the History of Science Museum in Oxford. On selected weekends until the end of January 2027, visitors can join volunteers and learn more about the museum’s ingenious scientific instruments. There will also be activities suitable for families with children aged seven years and over.

Before you go on to explore the galleries, pick up a Light & Space Backpack to help you discover fascinating science stories throughout the museum. There are also Family Scavenger Hunt Trails such as Spot the Animal and Mission: Morse Code.

29th-30th August, 26th-27th September, 24th-25th October, 28th-29th November, 30th-31st January.

Please check the History of Science Museum’s website to confirm availability and other details before visiting as these weekends may have to be postponed or cancelled if a volunteer is ill.
