Discover how Marwell Zoo in Hampshire helped bring the scimitar-horned oryx back from the brink of extinction this Scimitar-Horned Oryx Day, Sunday 16th August.
Once widespread across North Africa, scimitar-horned oryx disappeared from the wild in the late 1980s or early 1990s, but thanks to Marwell and their global partners, the species has been brought back from the brink of extinction.
Visitors can meet the keepers, get hands-on with scimitar-horned oryx artefacts, and join in with a Q&A session to learn more about this special species.
Event activities will take place from 10.30am – 3pm.
