Plug In and Play this October Half Term at the National Videogame Museum

The National Videogame Museum in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, will come to life with Plug In and Play, an exciting new programme for October half term. The Museum is open every day from the 26th October to 3rd November. So connect with the Museum in brand new ways as Plug In and Play introduces activities for all the family that combine fun, art and playful technology.

Code a mini robot, make it move and navigate a miniature obstacle course inspired by classic games like Frogger and Mario Kart. Steer through loops, avoid trees and jump over ramps. These obstacles will all be created, designed and crafted by visitors throughout the half-term holiday.

Also, a new suite of games, inspired by nature, will be activated on the gallery floor. So get comfy, plug in and play a range of classic and contemporary videogames. These games will be exclusively available throughout the half-term holiday.

Plug In and Play then extends to Rotherham in an action-packed adventure trail for all the family to enjoy from 31st October to 2nd November. Created in collaboration with the Children’s Capital of Culture, journey through eight locations taking part in unique activities, seeking out retro games to play and go beyond the screen to re-enact classic videogames in live-action fun. Just pick up your free trail map between 11am and 3pm from the Plug In and Play hub at Rotherham Town Centre’s All Saints Square to start your adventure.
