Find out all the things about castle life that you never heard about in classes at school with Horrid Histories. Expect terrible tales and some revolting facts! Learn sword-fighting skills and how to frighten the enemy at Knight School and be knighted as a defender of Carew Castle if you are successful.
Test your skills with a bow at Have-A-Go-Archery (extra charge applies and all children must be accompanied). Find the Key to unlock the treasure chest and reveal your reward. Join a guided Ghost Walk and learn about hauntings, stories of ghosts and happenings experienced at the Castle (booking essential).
Venture into a world of dragons, traps, unforgettable characters and treasure on The Storymaster’s Quests: Tower of Doooooom! The audience will decide the fate of the hero at these interactive, multi-media storytelling events for ages 6 years and over (booking recommended). Pack a picnic for open-air theatre productions of Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles and The Jungle Book.
Finally, for a fun day out over the August Bank Holiday weekend, join Historia Normannis for a Weekend of Warriors and Weaponry. The 12th century will come to life with living history featuring combat, weaponry skills and have-a-go archery, a medieval encampment and traditional skills.
