The Howden Christmas Family Raceday at Ascot in Berkshire is the perfect event for everyone to kick off the festive season in style. So plan a day out that combines top-quality Jumps racing and plenty of family activities. This year’s event promises to be a memorable one for all, with a theme of Christmas round the world, marking the return of the global community Christmas spirit in 2021.
From American cookie decorating and Canadian ice hockey shoot-outs to steel pan carollers and furry mascots from around the globe, the Howden Christmas Racing Weekend is jam-packed with exciting activities for racegoers of all ages.
The traditional fairground rides and candle-lit carol singing with the Ascot Brass Band remain firmly part of the weekend’s entertainment. Little ones will be kept entertained with festive arts and crafts, face painting and bubble magicians. Father Christmas and his reindeer will be in attendance. Mrs Christmas will also make a return for her much-loved story telling by the fire.
There is a range of food and drink options available around the racecourse and children under the age of 12 can eat for free at certain outlets. Gates open at 10.45am, racing takes place from 12.40pm to 3.35pm. Adult tickets (18 years and over) from £27, under 18s go free.
