Bring the past to life with a family day out at The Commandery in Worcester this May half term. Young visitors can discover what life was like for a Civil War soldier at the place that was the Royalist battle headquarters in 1651, during the English Civil War.
Soldier school sessions will run from Tuesday to Friday during the half-term break and include pike and cannon drills, games soldiers would have played and helping King Charles II make his escape from the Parliamentarian army.
Sessions are scheduled to run from 10.30am to 11.30am and then again from 1.30pm to 2.30pm (on Tuesday 28th May there will be no afternoon session). The cost will be £4 in addition to normal admission charges and there is no need to book in advance.
