Christmas at the Butterfly Farm

Visiting Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm at Christmas time offers a unique, tropical escape from winter’s chill. Step into a balmy 25°C and walk among vibrant butterflies in lush, heated gardens. It is perfect for families and nature lovers seeking a warm and tranquil experience during the holiday period, blending nature with seasonal charm.

The Christmas Butterfly, Papilio demodocus, once again graces the Butterfly Farm with its presence. It has striking black and yellow hues with little baubles of colour on the wings. Native to Africa, it has a wingspan of 9–11cm!

From 27th December to 6th January, don’t miss the daily Butterfly Lifecycle, Mini-Beast, Beetle, and Pupae Demonstrations at 11am in the Discovery Zone. Explore the incredible stages of the butterfly life cycle and get hands-on with Stick Insects.

Stratford Butterfly Farm is open every day of the year from 10am, except Christmas Day.
