Christmas at Chepstow Castle

Chepstow Castle in Monmouthshire is planning a varied programme of events and activities for families over the Christmas season. So take a break from the Christmas preparations, find out what’s on and join in the fun.

The chief medical officer of the North Pole will be visiting on 16th and 17th November for Medicine in the North Pole. Find out about the medical problems that Father Christmas encounters while he is out and about – how to keep warm, combat altitude sickness (caused by riding across the sky in the sleigh) and the effects of too many biscuits and mince pies.

Treat the family to tickets for Storytelling with Mother Christmas over the weekend of 30th November and 1st December. There will be a small gift for all children.

Step back to the past with Seasonal Scents: Medieval Christmas Decoration Workshop on 7th and 8th December. Discover how Christmas was celebrated in medieval times and make a scented decoration to take away.

Get creative Decoration Decorating on 14th and 15th December. Visitors can decorate a wooden Christmas tree ornament to hang on their tree at home.

Finally, from 21st December until 31st December, families can follow the Light-up Reindeer Trail around the castle. Track the reindeer down as you explore the site and work out what they have been doing over the summer. Remember a pencil for this fun family trail.
