Black to Green Festival at National Coal Mining Museum for England details...

Open 25th Oct

Join us for the Black to Green Festival, created by SPARK’s Youth Ambassadors. There’s something for all ages— recycled crafts, meet the minibeasts, nature storytelling, theatre performances, guided tree walks, and a chance to discover how our amazing reed beds naturally clean the orange mine water.

See our new youth curated exhibition ‘Roots & Renewal’ exploring the journey of mining landscapes from black to green. Part of the Natural History Museum’s Fixing Our Broken Planet programme. Don’t miss the magical finale – an animated projection bringing Caphouse Colliery’s story to life, tracing its journey from a bustling coal mine to a peaceful nature trail full of wildlife!

10am – 5pm, Free
