How are Classes Structured?

Classes operate weekly in term time and are grouped into the following:

  • Lower Primary (ages 5-8) which sees younger children use their energy to try to their hands at acting and learn how to work with their peers. These classes aim to help children build their confidence and creativity.
  • Upper Primary (for ages 9-11) where students are encouraged to try improvisation, script work and role-playing to explore drama in its many forms. They develop key communication skills and each child will feel seen as they explore their sense of self in drama.
  • Youth Theatre (for ages 12-18) which see students take on various drama activities from radio plays and monologues to spontaneous improvisation and theatre games. These classes are aimed at older children and young people to give them more of age-appropriate drama experience.

Some Drama Kids academies also offer:

  • Early Years (for ages 3-4) which focus on skills for this key age group through the power of storytelling, speech and dramatic play.
  • Adult Classes (ages 18+) because drama isn’t just for children! Adults can gain public speaking and presentation skills as well build their self-esteem in a pressure-free environment.
