Zip World Llechwedd

Looking for an exciting day out with the kids in North Wales? Check out the thrilling underground and above-ground experiences on offer at Zip World Llechwedd in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Snowdonia. In all there are six adventures available at Llechwedd, a location with a rich slate mining heritage. Many of the adventures are suitable for families with children aged from three years.

Take the Deep Mine Tour to discover Llechwedd’s history. Learn how local men and children produced world-class slate. The walking tour ends with a journey back to the surface on an underground train, Europe’s steepest cable railway.

How about challenging family and friends to a round of Underground Golf in a cave? The 18-hole adventure golf course features some striking lighting and interesting interactive elements.

Bounce Below is a huge underground net adventure playground allowing visitors to jump, bounce and slide their way through a disused mine. Expect six trampoline-style nets within an area that is twice as big as St Paul’s Cathedral.

Families with older children should check out Caverns. A challenging course through a historic slate mine, Caverns includes zip lines, rope bridges, via ferrata and more.

Meanwhile, above ground are Titan and Big Red. Titan comprises an exciting tour of the Llechwedd Slate Quarry aboard a former army truck followed by an exhilarating zipline descent with amazing views of the quarry below and over Snowdonia. Big Red has two side-by-side zip lines 30 feet above the ground. Who will reach the end first?
