Wirral Country Park details...

Visit Wirral Country Park and walk along 12 mile Wirral Way on footpaths following the line of the old West Kirby to Hooton railway line, spot the wildlife along the way.

A Green Flag award winner, this was the first designated Country Park in Britain. The Merseyside park is one of the most scenic routes in the area with self-guided trails, picnic areas overlooking the Dee Estuary, beach walks and a ranger-led events programme. You can see magnificent views of migratory birds over the River Dee, walk on Thurstaston Beach or have a barbecue or picnic in the grasslands.

There are good facilities for families including a visitor centre, toilets, car parking, exhibition areas, bird hides and more. The visitor centre open 10am to 4.45pm, 7 days a week (closed 25th to 29th December) and there is a small charge for parking.
