A Green Flag award winner, this was the first designated Country Park in Britain. The Merseyside park is one of the most scenic routes in the area with self-guided trails, picnic areas overlooking the Dee Estuary, beach walks and a ranger-led events programme. You can see magnificent views of migratory birds over the River Dee, walk on Thurstaston Beach or have a barbecue or picnic in the grasslands.
There are good facilities for families including a visitor centre, toilets, car parking, exhibition areas, bird hides and more. The visitor centre open 10am to 4.45pm, 7 days a week (closed 25th to 29th December) and there is a small charge for parking.
