Whirlow Hall Farm Trust details...

Whirlow Hall Farm Trust is an educational trust established in 1979 to encourage outdoor learning, particularly for children that struggle in mainstream education, inner-city children and those from challenging backgrounds.

Take a guided tour of the farm and encounter piglets, sheep, goats and learn all about farm life.  Find out the difference between a heifer and a bullock, what silage and straw does, say hello to a pig nose to nose!

Farm tours are a standard part of school visit programmes but tours for visitors take place at weekends, during the holidays or as part of a special event. Tours are accredited by the Children’s University.

Public tours run every hour on the hour between 11am and 3pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays. The meeting point for these tours is the blue shed outside of the Animal Handling Barn. Talk to the staff and volunteers in the Bottom Yard and to find out when the next one begins.

The Cruck Barn Cafe is open Wednesday to Sunday and Bank Holidays with a full menu served 10am-3.30pm; cakes served until 4.30pm. There is no charge to join a Farm Tour at weekends or during the holidays, but donations towards the work of the charity are most welcome.  Large groups are also welcomed for tours.
