A visit to Titanic Belfast, the world’s largest Titanic visitor experience, will be an unforgettable day out for the family, delving into history and laying to rest some of the myths behind the story of the RMS Titanic and her maiden voyage on 2 April 1912.
Explore the Titanic story from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through her construction and launch, to her infamous maiden voyage and catastrophic demise.
The Titanic Experience gives visitors the chance to discover more with nine fascinating interactive galleries, special effects, breathtaking interactive features, full-scale reconstructions and rides.
There is also an Ocean Exploration Centre and visitors can see equipment used in ocean exploration and explore underwater with simulators in a virtual environment.
Included in the Experience is a visit to the restored SS Nomadic, tender to Titanic. See her berthed in Hamilton Dry Dock and learn about her colourful passengers and gain an insight into maritime and social history on board the only remaining White Star Line ship.
The Titanic Belfast attraction is located in front of the slipways where the Titanic and her sister ship the Olympic were built and launched and visitors can walk down the Titanic’s actual slipway and then around a life-size plan of her Promenade Deck finding out what the layout of the deck of the liner would have looked like and where lifeboats and funnels and benches would have been positioned.
More suited to adults and children aged 12+ is the Discovery Tour (separate charge), a walking tour, where visitors can learn about the men who built this famous ship and about its architectural design and hear about the Harland & Wolff Drawing Offices where she was designed. Tickets to Titanic Belfast can be purchased online and are based on a timed ticketing.
