Share a family day out with the kids at this attraction in Thirsk, North Yorkshire which pays a tribute to the life and times of the author James Alfred Wight otherwise known as James Herriot, the world’s most famous vet.

Step into his home and surgery, travel back in time to 1940s, see the dining room and practise room as well as the Austin 7 car he drove.

Children will love the Interactive Gallery, try your hand at being a vet and experience what it was like to hide in a World War II air raid shelter.

Step into the tv set of the original ’All Creatures Great and Small’ series that was filmed by BBC television and imagine yourself as one of the actors.
