A traditional steam train, taking passengers on a unique journey to the tip of Lake Windermere that is a perfect addition to your Lake District adventure.
Different engines are used throughout the season to haul passengers through the tranquil scenery of the Leven Valley. The train takes the steeply graded line, leisurely transporting guests to Lakeside Station, where connections are available with Windermere Lake Cruises.
You can also combine the steam train journey with other local attractions in the surrounding area, making it an exciting day to explore the Lake District. These include Windermere Lake Cruises, The World of Beatrix Potter, Lakeland Motor Museum and The Lakes Aquarium.
At the Victorian Haverthwaite Station visitors can spend a while in the comfortable and friendly surroundings of the Station Tea Room, serving quality home-cooked refreshments.
The station is surrounded by woodland and has a great children’s adventure playground with climbing structures, nets, slides and more.
