Tatton Park

A visit to Tatton Park is one of the favourite family things to do around Cheshire or Greater Manchester. There is plenty to occupy all ages with the Mansion, Gardens, Old Hall, Farm and Adventure Playground.

The wealthy Egerton family former home shows a glimpse of life in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries both above and below stairs in the elegant mansion.

The extensive gardens are full of beautiful trees, avenues, a restored conservatory, a fabulous Japanese garden and the restored walled kitchen garden.

Pack a picnic and explore the parkland on foot or on bikes and you can escape into the wide open spaces on trails through the woodland. The kids will want to make a beeline for the adventure playground located next to the car park and is free to enter.

Why not head for Tatton Park Farm which has rare breed animals, visit Aunt Mary’s 1930s cottage, take trailer and tractor rides, enjoy the covered play barn, try den-building and get lost in the mazes.

The Tatton Park Old Hall offers medieval events, it retains a shadowy atmosphere in themed events reflecting its sixteenth century origins.

Tickets are bookable online for all venues and the parkland and playground are free to enter, however there is a car park charge of £8 applicable to all visitors.
