Experience war time as you explore this labyrinth of underground tunnels dug out beneath Stockport and used as shelter during the Blitz. Opened in 1939, the shelters were the largest purpose-built civilian air raid shelters in the country, providing shelter for as many as 6,500 people. Book on to a family or children’s explorer tour, warm clothing and sensible shoes recommended. Under 16s have free entry.
