St Michael's Mount details...

For a wonderful family day out, discover legend, myth and over a thousand years of incredible history at this fascinating attraction.

Situated 400 yards off Mount’s Bay in Marazion, St Michael’s Mount is an iconic Cornish landmark and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the South West.

At low tide, you can cross the ancient causeway where a legendary giant once walked, or when the tide is in, you can boat hop to an island where modern life meets layers of history.

Discover an evocative medieval castle and a sub-tropical garden paradise. Stoop through ancient doorways, wander through century-old corridors and discover treasures from the Mount’s past.

Children can take part in the fun castle quiz and let their curiosity engage them, as they learn what makes this castle so special. The hunt is on for a giant’s stone heart, the armour of a samurai warrior and a mummified cat! In the gardens, look out for the unexpected.

The micro climate ensures all sorts of unlikely plants flourish there. Enjoy the Gardens Trail and go on a voyage of discovery through the winding pathways and steep stone terraces.

The tiny village and harbour at the base of the Castle and grounds has an interesting history. You can join a tour to hear all about it. Put on sensible footwear for steep paths and cobbled pathways, check the handy causeway search on the website to see when the causeway will be open on the day of your visit, and enjoy everything this special attraction has to offer.
