Shuttleworth

Shuttleworth is a year‑round visitor attraction in Bedfordshire. At its heart are:

• The Shuttleworth Collection – a world-renowned collection of airworthy aircraft dating from 1909 to the 1950s, many of which are the sole surviving examples of their type, including the world’s oldest airworthy aircraft, alongside Clayton & Shuttleworth Ltd heritage machinery, veteran cars, classic motorcycles, bicycles and vintage buses.
• Swiss Garden – a Regency garden designed in the ’Swiss Picturesque’ or ’Alpine’ style which is an RHS partner garden and part of the Grade II registered park of Old Warden.
• Shuttleworth House – a Jacobean-style Victorian mansion which is an award-winning wedding and events venue, open to the public on select days.

A major highlight of the Shuttleworth calendar is its spectacular programme of air shows from May to October. Each show includes a full day of entertainment, featuring Collection and visiting aircraft, vintage vehicles, heritage machinery, Discovery Zone STEM activities, and family‑friendly attractions. Best of all, kids go free*.

The Shuttleworth Trust – a registered charity: 307534 – was set up to honour the life and legacy of Richard Ormonde Shuttleworth, a keen aviator, racing driver and horse racer, who was tragically killed in 1940 during a night training exercise for the RAF.
