Scottish Football Museum details...

An ideal day out for families, avid football fans and novices eager to gain knowledge of Scottish football, the museum is home to the world’s most impressive national collection of football related objects, memorabilia and ephemera.

Glasgow’s first Museum to be awarded the 5 Star stamp of approval from VisitScotland, the Scottish Football Museum has over 2500 objects on display, tracing the history of football in Scotland along with archive film showcasing some of the most memorable games and greatest players.

You can sit in the original dressing room from the old Hampden stadium, listening to Craig Brown speaking to the Scotland team, or enter through one of the old turnstiles to see one of the top ten world cup goals of all time, scored against Holland by Archie Gemmill. The World’s oldest national trophy, The Scottish Cup is also on display and is an integral part of the history of Scottish football from the 19th century right up until the present day.

The Scottish Football Hall of Fame, established in 2004, is a permanent feature in the Scottish Football Museum and honours not only the outstanding players, but also the managers and officials who have reached the heights of their profession and have made significant contributions to Scottish football through their hard work, talent, spirit and resolve. The Hall of Fame is now firmly established as a “must see” amongst football fans, not only from Scotland, and includes names such as Jim Baxter, Kenny Dalglish, Sir Alex Ferguson and also Larsson and Laudrup.

There are currently 104 football legends in the Hall of Fame. (2017)

Alongside it’s permanent exhibits the museum runs a changing programme of exhibitions, usually designed to draw attention to specific subjects, events, people or places using items not only from the Museum’s collections, but from all over Scotland and even further.

The Scottish Football Museum has something for all ages and exists to promote the unique football heritage of Scotland, to build and maintain a national football collection, and to educate and inspire future generations.
