Pack binoculars and enjoy a day out with the kids at RSPB Newport Wetlands nature reserve. It is a wonderful place for families to enjoy the great outdoors and get closer to nature. Look out for waders and wildfowl, orchids, dragonflies, bees and grass snakes, depending on the time of year.
There is a visitor centre, children’s playground and choice of trails including the mile-long Sculpture Trail and the Orchid Trail of the same length. See what you can spot in the reed beds and enjoy fabulous views of the Severn estuary. Remember wellies as the trails can be muddy.
