National Waterways Museum

Bring history to life when you take the kids for a great day out to see the Thomas Telford Docks at Ellesmere Port. Discover dock workers’ cottages, the locks and moorings, the colourful visiting narrow boats and the waterways museum site.

Take a narrow boat cruise and discover the craft of boat-building, walk outdoors around the locks, docks and warehouses spotting the signs that reveal it was a busy working area. You can also visit the forge, stables, workers cottages and the main exhibition area in the Island Warehouse.
