Leeds Castle details...

Leeds castle near Maidstone is a wonderful place to visit for a family day out that everyone will enjoy.

Set in 500 acres of parkland, on its own island surrounded by a moat and with over 900 years of history, ’the loveliest castle in the world’ is the perfect backdrop to a family day out.

Tour the Castle itself, the private property of six of England’s medieval queens and one of the most visited historic buildings in Britain.

Go for a stroll through the magnificent gardens, get lost in the maze, where, once you reach the middle, you return through an underworld grotto, complete with macabre forms and mythical beasts created from shells, minerals and wood.

Children will love to run wild in the Knights’ Realm playground, modelled on the design of Leeds Castle and built entirely in wood. Or the Squires’ Courtyard playground, where they can climb turrets, swing across zip lines, play in the sand pits or plunge down the slide!

When little legs get tired, there is a restaurant as well as seasonal kiosks, or enjoy a picnic in the beautiful grounds.

Visitors can ride on Elsie the Castle Land Train, watch falconry displays and during seasonal times, glide across the Great Water on the Black Swan Boat.

There are a host of events throughout the year, perfect for all ages. Every ticket is valid for a year so you can pay once and visit again and again.
