One of the interesting places to take the kids is Kelham Island Museum where you can find out about Sheffield’s industrial heritage.

Visit the museum on a man made island and explore the interactive galleries that tell the story of the Industrial Revolution in this part of South Yorkshire.

Investigate the story of steel through the Victorian Era and two world wars understand how steel making put the city on the global map. See indoor and outdoor heritage machinery, a gas engine, a Bessemer Converter, the dye cutter and cutlers workshop and find out what a grand slam bomb is.

Look out for events held throughout the year. Entrance is Free.
