Pull on your walking shoes for a day out in the fresh air at Jumbles Country Park. Situated north of Bolton and is an ideal location to spend some time outdoors away from the towns and city of Manchester.
See if you can spot the different wildlife, listen out for the woodpecker and keep your eyes peeled for the kingfisher. Before you set out, download a British wild life list and play a seek and find game with the kids, there are plenty of trees and plants along the way to practise your identification skills.
Sailing and fishing are available for those wishing to take to the water, or there is a gentle circular path suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, around the reservoir itself. There is a three and half mile circular route around the reservoir that starts and ends at the car park and there are alternative routes to extend the walk, which are waymarked. Maps of the routes are available for purchase in the café.
Open 10.30 to 4.30pm every day. See the website for details of cafe opening hours.
