Ingleborough Cave details...

For exciting days out with the kids visit the cave at Ingleborough, North Yorkshire. It was first entered and made accessible in 1837 and is one of the best showcaves in Yorkshire. See the awesome cave formations as you enter the imposing cave and step back in time millions of years to the Ice Ages. The floodlit cave will reveal spectacular limestone formations from the ground and from the cave ceiling including Фan elephant’s legs’ and ’Queen Victoria’s bloomers’.

Tours are every hour, on the hour, wear something warm and wear sturdy shoes. Small size pushchairs are permitted along the well lit concrete pathway and there are no steps. For more adventurous families you can take the Adventure Caving Tour when one of the experienced Cave Leaders will guide you through the passages of Cellar Gallery to see stalagmites, flowstones, scallops and fossils.

Take a boat across the pool through the mysterious waters of the Styx, to the 2nd Gothic Arch, before arriving at the hugely impressive chamber of Giant’s Hall.

See website for information and prices, age restrictions apply. Look out for the Santa’s Grotto event at Christmas time.
