Learn about Victorian hat making in Stockport, see elaborate ladies’ head-dresses, sportswear, helmets. Hat Works is located in the original Wellington Mill and is staged as a hat factory with some 20 fully restored working Victorian-style machines along with reconstructed hatter’s cottage, hat block workshop, working office and haberdashery shop front. There is a fantastic collection of over 400 hats from around the world. Under 16s have free entry.
