A great place to take the kids for an exciting day of Wintersports fun is Glasgow Ski & Snowboard Centre. Located in Bellahouston Park, only minutes away from central Glasgow, and within easy reach of all the main motorways, it is the place to ski, tube and board in the West of Scotland. The club is home to a modern floodlit dry slope, with unrivalled instruction, and snowsport activities for every taste, age and ability. No matter if you’re a beginner or expert, the Centre’s lesson programmes have something for everyone!
You can learn to ski or snowboard in groups of up to ten people, all of whom are at the same level as you. There are junior only, senior only and mixed family classes available. Classes are available either over 6 or 4 weeks, both providing a total of 6 hours of tuition, and take place at the same time and day each week. There are minimum age limits for classes, 6 and upwards for skiing and 8 and upwards for snowboarding. Skis/boards, poles and boots are included in the price, but it is recommended that participants bring their own helmets. (A very small number are available from the Centre) Note that prices shown are for a series of lessons for a family of four. Taster lessons are available at a greatly reduced rate if you’ve never skied before or are not sure if it’s quite for you.
Glasgow Ski and Snowboard Centre also offers tubing. Tubing is an exhilarating high- speed activity that anyone can take part in and involves sliding down the slope in a specially designed ring. There are open tubing sessions on selected weekends. Sessions are for 4-year olds and upwards, last for an hour and are supervised by an instructor with a maximum of 20 participants.
Birthday parties at the centre are also very popular, with a variety of activities and options available. (Including the very popular Tubing party). Contact the centre for details.
