The highlight of a day out at Dolaucothi Gold Mines in Carmarthenshire is likely to be one of the guided underground walking tours to see the mine adits! You will need to borrow helmets, which adds to the excitement. Gold mining took place at Dolaucothi from Roman times to the 1930s.
Afterwards, try your hand at gold panning and learn more about the history of the site since Roman times. Explore the 1930s mine yard with mine machinery, tools and explanatory information boards. Then pull on your boots and enjoy a family walk around the beautiful estate.
