The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is the childhood home to the author D.H. Lawrence. The Museum is located in the ex-mining town of Eastwood and surrounded by the lovely landscapes that influenced Lawrence’s life and books. Guided and self-guided tours are available at the Museum, as well as self-led local walks. So whether you’ve read any D.H. Lawrence books, or simply enjoy a good story and visiting historic houses, come and visit the authentically restored miners cottage, where the controversial life of D.H. Lawrence began.
Open Tuesday to Saturday at 10am until 4pm. Closed during winter and January for annual site maintenance. Guided and self-guided tours are available and booking is advised. Entry is paid at the door where you can book the optional self -guided tour, children up to and including 16 years have free entry.
Local parking is readily available and public transport is also available by bus to Eastwood High Street.
