Craigtoun Country Park details...

For a great family day out with the kids in Fife, head to Craigtoun Country Park, just outside beautiful St Andrews. Situated in 47 acres of well-maintained grounds, the park is open all year round and offers free entry and plenty of free parking too. Within the park visitors can enjoy free facilities such as the adventure playground, trampolines, Fairy Glen, trim trail and a 30ft zip wire, not forgetting the quirky Dutch Village set on its own island in the lake. Between April and October the park offers extra seasonal paid attractions, which currently include the Rio Grande Miniature Railway and Puffin’ Billy tractor rides, boating on the lake, putting, crazy golf, bouncy castles and pedal cars (for those under seven).  An unusual and popular attraction is the park’s Picnic Hut which is available for hire for parties, outings and family gatherings throughout the season.

Craigtoun has been a popular destination for family days out since the late 1940s, when it was bought by Fife County Council from the Melville family after nearly 200 years of ownership. Much of the current parkland and landscaping dates from the first two decades of the twentieth century, when the estate was owned by the Younger brewing family. The park is currently operated by the Friends of Craigtoun Park.

Craigtoun Café is open daily throughout the year and provides a full menu of snacks, drinks and light meals. The café is open 10 am – 2 pm over the winter months and 10 am – 5 pm from April to October.

During the Summer season a range of tickets is available for the additional paid attractions, possibly the best value is the day ticket for four, costing £35.00, or for regular visitors a Season Pass for four offers good value at £120.00.
