Perfect base for family days out in the Shropshire Hills AONB. Picnic by the stream and paddle in summer. There’s a great choice of beautiful walks starting from the National Trust Centre. Arm yourself with maps and set off to discover the geology, archaeology and wildlife of the Long Mynd.
If it’s a clear night and the family are interested in stargazing, why not plan a visit after dark? There are four spots across the valley and hill that have been designated Dark Sky Discovery Sites due to their degree of darkness. It is possible to see the Milky Way from all four locations. During the winter there are usually Stars in Your Skies events – a great way to get started with stargazing. Just check Carding Mill Valley’s website for dates and other details.
National lockdown once again…Let’s Go with the Children is here to help and support families with ideas and information during this period. When we can start planning family outings, the Let’s Go Team will be inspiring you with ideas and inspirations but until then, stay safe and well.
