A wonderful place to explore with the children is Aldenham Country Park in Hertfordshire. Covering 160 acres of park and farmland and lakeside walks, this country park has so many different activities to enjoy. The nature trail is perfect for a family walk. Alternatively, bring bikes and enjoy a family bike ride in the park. At the working farm visitors can get up close to a wide variety of animals, including pigs, cows, sheep, goats, ferrets, geese, birds and many more. Be sure not to miss the animal petting area and aviary. In the Pony Zone, children will love having a ride on one of the gentle ponies, perfect if experiencing riding for the first time or even for those who have ridden before. Rides can be booked in advance online or on the day at the farm office. At 100 Aker Wood, look out for Winnie the Pooh and his friends. Why not play ФPooh Sticks’ at Pooh Bridge with the family and see who can win. The Woodland Adventure will bring out the sense of adventure and outdoors in children as they experience building dens and making a fire, trying out the monkey nets or tree climbing. Some activities are seasonal, or in school holidays only, so please confirm prior to visiting in order not to be disappointed. The outdoor play areas, more suitable for older children, are close to picnic areas and the indoor play barn has a climbing wall and kiddies rides. There’s a host of themed parties to choose from. Whether it’s a Pony Party, a Farm Party, a Wild Party or even a Bear Hunt Party, it will certainly be a party to remember. All in all, the park is a great day out for the family.
