For a great day out with the kids in Aberdeenshire, then a visit to Aberdeen Science Centre, where science is brought to life, is sure to appeal. Its vision is to make science accessible and relevant to everyone and the Centre offers a focal point, which encourages and inspires all visitors (whether members of the public, industry or academia), in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Visitors will find a multitude of interactive, hands-on exhibitions, a discovery laboratory, participatory activities, events and theatre shows for all ages aiding discovery. For schools there are curriculum-linked shows and workshops and little ones will love the special Little Explorer Days (for ages 3Р5 years and a small, extra charge). Workshops last for around half an hour and are fun, science-based activities, stimulating learning through play. There is an opportunity to become a STEM Passport Holder, which enables visitors to return as often as they wish within a 12-month period. For that special day, there’s a host of birthday party themes to choose from such as Bug Handling, Junior Scientist, Bubbles and Volcanoes and parties last for two hours Р slots are available at weekends only. Check out the special events and topical themes that run through the year, in particular at times such as National Science Week and Engineering Week. This really is an excellent destination with the family, where everyone can be involved.
