One of the fun places to take the kids in Rhondda Cynon Taf is Aberdare Park, a well-preserved Victorian public park. Families will find plenty of things to do, see and enjoy. One of the highlights in summer is likely to be the beautiful boating lake. Either sail your own toy boat or hire one of the traditional paddle boats.
Also there are geese and birds to feed, tennis courts and an adventure playground complete with a zip wire, swings, roundabout and climbing frame. A café is open in summer so pop in and treat yourselves – bird food for the ducks and geese is also on sale.
Park is open daily.
Opening times of individual attractions vary and may depend on weather conditions.
Boating is usually available daily during the school holidays and at weekends from Easter to the end of September and charges apply.
Café normally opens from Easter weekend until the end of September.
