Pumpkin pouches
These little pumpkin pouches are a great idea for a Halloween inspired gift!
Simply cut large circles out of orange tissue paper. Fill the centre with a handful of goodies (sweets always work well!) and crimp the edges of the circle together to create your pouch. These can be tied with string, glued or stapled. For the finishing touch, wrap a thin piece of green tissue paper around the seal to complete your pumpkin pouch!
Painted pumpkins
If you’d rather not let your little ones handle pumpkin cutting tools, why not try this child-friendly approach!
Find the best looking pumpkin and give it a good clean and dry to allow the paint to stick. Pour a few non-toxic paints on a paper plate and let your kids go crazy. They can paint classic scary faces, friendly ghosts or a spooky scene – The possibilities are endless with this craft!
Ghostly cupcakes
Who doesn’t love a tasty treat? Make it Halloween themed by adding a spooky ghost to the top.
Bake your favourite cupcake recipe and make a small batch of vanilla icing. Once the cupcakes have cooled, add a small spot of icing to the centre of the cupcake. Before it sets, and a marshmallow to the top. Using either white fondant or white royal icing, roll out a thin circle, just big enough to drape over and cover the marshmallow. Add a spot of icing to the top of the marshmallow and lay the circle of icing over the top to create the ghost. If you have edible googly eyes around, use these as the ghost’s eyes! If not, why not use two chocolate chips as the eyes – Secure with a small amount of icing and enjoy your spooky treat!
