Santa Specials at East Lancashire Railway

Don’t miss the Santa Specials at the East Lancashire Railway in Bury during the run-up to Christmas. This annual favourite day out with the kids is the perfect addition to your list of festive things to do. It wouldn’t be Christmas without the magic of a Santa Special!

As you make your way through the beautifully decorated winter wonderland at Bury Bolton Street Station, you will meet the first of the colourful characters including Mrs Claus and the Ice Princess.

Then board the heritage steam train and enjoy a journey through the Irwell Valley to Rawtenstall and back again, a round trip of about 80 minutes. During the journey you will meet your favourite Christmas characters and enjoy a merry old sing-along with the brass band.

While you travel, Santa himself will visit your carriage with a gift for every child and there will be plenty of time to have a chat with him and even snap a selfie or two.
