Visit Denbigh Castle in North Wales for free over the weekend of the 19th-20th September as part of the annual Open Doors festival. Once a mighty fortress and now part of a World Heritage Site, the castle ruins bring medieval warfare to life. Listen out for the sound of the portcullis as you cross the drawbridge into the gatehouse!
