Medieval Festival at Beaumaris Castle details...

Open 29th Aug - 31st Aug

Join lords and ladies, knights, jesters and musicians for a great family day out on Anglesey at Beaumaris Castle’s Medieval Festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Visit the medieval encampment to find out what life was like centuries ago. Learn about crafts such as arrow making, cooking and games. Watch archery, armour and weaponry demonstrations.

Laugh along with the castle jester, but look out for the castle executioner peddling his grim tales of torture. Knights will be training in the fight arena and the Knights School will be welcoming would-be recruits, both young and old.

The day will end with the main battle between the men and archers of Captain Nicholas Horton and those of Lord Gerard de Rhodes. The Captain will be asking children aged 13 years and under to join his ranks when things do not go according to plan.

Please see Cadw’s website to confirm details before travelling.
