Enjoy a family visit to mighty Beaumaris Castle on Anglesey this May half term and learn more about life in the past.
Men at Arms – 24th-26th May
Over the May Bank Holiday weekend younger visitors can train to be a knight in the Knight’s School, while adults can learn some basic sword fighting skills as well as finding out about archery and weapons in displays and talks. All ages will have fun at the jester’s circus skills workshop.
Join the House of the Black Star medieval re-enactment society and discover how soldiers would defend and attack the castle and enjoy storytelling and displays about medieval life including medieval medicine and cooking. Musicians will be playing medieval tunes to add to the atmosphere.
Knight Camp – 28th-30th May
Later in May half term week the Plantagenet group will bring the site to life as they set up camp within the grounds of Beaumaris Castle, offering a glimpse of what the castle would have been like in the medieval age.
