Two exciting living history events bring the past to life at mighty Beaumaris Castle on Anglesey this May half term:
Over the May Bank Holiday weekend, from 23rd to 25th May, young explorers are invited to train in the Knight’s School for children. Meanwhile, adults can learn some basic sword fighting skills and find out more about weapons and archery in displays and talks.
There will also be a jester’s circus skills workshop and the chance to join re-enactment group House of the Black Star to see how soldiers would attack and defend the castle. With storytelling, cooking displays, medieval medicine and leather work, it is a great chance to learn more about life in medieval Wales. Roaming musicians will add to the atmosphere.
The Plantagenet Group will be setting up camp at Beaumaris Castle from Wednesday 27th to Friday 29th May. Take the family along to explore and glimpse what the castle must have been like in the medieval age.
There is no need to book for either event.
