If you are looking for places to go where there are special events for half term then visit the National Coal Mining Museum in Wakefield for their half term Science Show event from Saturday 16th until Sunday 24th February 2019.
Drop into the museum for a half term full of fun with the FREE explosive Science Show. The entertaining 30 minute show introduces you to some famous inventors and explains how the safety-flame lamp was invented and why it was so important to miners. Explosions guaranteed!
No need to book, suitable for all the family.
Free Performances at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, plus all the usual museum attractions will be open for you to enjoy including Underground Tours where you can descend 140m below the surface with an ex-miner as your own personal tour guide and discover a world beneath your feet; the pit ponies Eric and Ernie and Budd and Clydesdale Finn are waiting for you to visit the stables. If the weather is kind you can spend some time on the nature trails and the kids can let off steam in the new adventure playground.
