Glow at Marwell 2025

Glow Marwell returns for another year of winter wonder, inviting you to explore Marwell Zoo in a whole new light. Taking place on selected evenings from late November through early January, this after-dark experience transforms the zoo into a magical landscape of glowing displays and illuminated wildlife.

Each Glow Marwell ticket includes access to the light trail from 5pm to 8pm, your ticket also provides free daytime entry to the zoo from 10am to 4pm. Giving you the chance to discover the animals across Marwell’s 140-acre park before the lights come to life after dark.

You can also add on the Santa’s Grotto experience at Marwell Hall, available on selected dates from Friday 28 November to Wednesday 24 December. This magical 45-minute session includes storytelling with one of Santa’s elves, a Christmas decoration craft activity in the workshop, letter writing to Santa, a sleigh photo opportunity, and a personal visit with Santa himself. Every child will receive a quality gift, valued at £14.95. The grotto experience must be pre-booked and is expected to sell out quickly.

For those looking for an immersive educational experience, the Virtual Reality Winter Wildlife show takes place in the Giraffe House between 11.30am and 3pm, and again from 5.30pm to 7pm. Using state-of-the-art VR headsets, this 13-minute show transports visitors to icy landscapes to meet animals such as polar bears, reindeer and arctic foxes, while exploring how they adapt to the cold and how climate change is affecting their habitats. This experience is available for an additional charge of £6 per person and is suitable for ages 5 and above.

Delicious seasonal food will be available throughout the event, with festive menus offered at Café Graze and The Keeper’s Kitchen. Outdoor food cabins near Marwell Hall will serve winter favourites such as luxury hot chocolates, bratwurst, and toasted marshmallows by the firepit.

Before the trail begins, guests can enjoy the festive atmosphere of the plaza. Here, you’ll find a traditional festive market, seasonal treats, and access to The Keeper’s Kitchen. Free parking is also included with every booking.
