LEGOLAND have launched their most recent addition to Miniland London this July. The new MBNA Thames Clippers Boat, built to a scale of 1:50, a replica of the latest Mercury Clipper boat now in service on the Thames (visit our Facebook page to watch a time-lapse video of the construction of the LEGO® boat). We all know that LEGO® is a big hit with children (and adults too!) but did you know how many different LEGO® themed activities there are to take part in, see, watch and do this summer? We’re going to take you through some of the best LEGO® themed activities for summer fun!

BRICKLIVE LEGO® exhibition at ExCel London:  27th – 30th July

An unmissable experience for LEGO® fans of all ages, visitors can expect to see enormous LEGO® sculptures, dive into brick pits, plus play with a whopping three million LEGO® bricks that will fill the free-build zones for enthusiasts to create their dream creations.

With special guests and the latest exciting LEGO launches announced on the Live Stage, event goers can also look forward to interactive LEGO® themed zones, giant brick filled play areas and the latest LEGO® computer game releases from Warner Bros.

From Star Wars and Ninjago to Minecraft and Friends – fans can experience their favourite LEGO® themes all under one roof.

BRICKLIVE will be touring the UK, visiting; Belfast – Titanic Exhibition Centre 3rd – 6th August and Birmingham – NEC 26th – 29th October. The Great Brick Safari at Marwell Zoo: 1st August – 1st October

See how over 2 million bricks are used to make the sculptures, including a 1.5 tonne elephant, a life size Bengal tiger and a trio of Giant panda cubs!  Many of the sculptures will be inspired by Marwell’s own fascinating and diverse collection of animals, with a red ruffed lemur, a warthog and a mob of meerkats all featuring on the trail. As well as the wonderful trail, LEGO® fans of all ages will get the opportunity to try their hands at making their own animal sculptures in the Great Brick Building Zone! Building Adventures at Lyme Park – Thomas’s Life in LEGO® details: 22nd July – 13th August

Join the  LEGO® themed adventure trail that will highlight Thomas Legh’s travels as world wide features are brought to life in LEGO® bricks!

Step back to the Regency era and reveal how Thomas Legh loved travel; he was one of the first Europeans to explore the far reaches of the Nile. In a unique exhibition by Warren Elsmore and his team of artists, discover LEGO® models based on the sights Thomas would have seen on his travels. LEGO® Brick Animal Trail at WWT Welney: 5th August – 3rd September

For a great day out head off to WWT Welney Wetland Centre and enjoy the awesome LEGO® models which will form a trail for all the family, to inspire them to build a better future for nature.

Visitors will be able to go on the trail which will include a variety of individually-designed 1.5m Lego brick animals, some inspired by real species at Welney! Look out for the Bewick’s swan (the UK’s smallest and rarest swan), a dragonfly and a kingfisher! More…
