Located within 80 acres of ancient, natural British woodland, primarily ash and oak, the Park has its very own campsite, a five-acre lake, education centre, woodland trail, two adventure playgrounds and an undercover play area for younger kids as well as picnic and barbecue areas. Of particular appeal will be the range of outdoor pursuits available and activity days on offer include bushcraft skills, archery, canoeing survival weekends, willow weaving, foraging and the exciting Tarzan Tree Tops Trail. Minimum height and age restrictions apply and there are separate charges according to the activity. Pre-booking is essential and some activities are available to groups only, so check website to avoid disappointment. Another highlight of a visit that will appeal to all ages is the Woodland Train. Tickets for this can be purchased from the driver. The activity days and train run between Easter and October at weekends and in school holidays. There are so many opportunities for learning here and the education programme offered is designed with all stages of the national curriculum in mind. Outdoor learning opportunities include map reading skills or biodiversity studies.
